We've been followers of Cornish outfit Hockeysmith since their 2014 EP But Blood made a strong impact. 7 years on, With sister and former bandmate Georgie departing the project in 2017 to focus on other things, singer, songwriter and producer Annabel has steered the Hockeysmith ship in an exciting new direction. Following last year's 'Hyper Kobra', 'Down Love' tumbles deeper down an electronic pop rabbit hole. Touching on the extremities of hyper-pop at times, Annabel's celestially high vocals are reminiscent of Visions-era Grimes, whilst dramatic synth lines and bouncy processed beats provide floods of early noughties nostalgia.
